BackgroundAfter working for several years as an account manager at Procter & Gamble, I have run my own training company. I have provided leadership, management, and communications training for numerous companies throughout Europe. This has enriched my life and opened my eyes to what the world has to offer. Not surprisingly, I have been open for partners from abroad. I know Denmark and Lithuania very well that way. Just as the practices, which are different in many areas from what we are accustomed to in the Netherlands. They are often much better. In more than ten countries, from Poland to Turkey, I have tried to gain support for political parties that want to strengthen democracy, to let the voice of the people be heard and to bring their own country in line with the pace of the people. I am a true liberal. I believe in a small powerful government that encourages its citizens and does not work against them. I believe that citizens know full well what is good for them. That they do not need government to decide it for them. That the citizens do not need unnecessary bureaucracy and can decide what they want to do with their own hard-earned money. I consider this the reason why I have been active since age seventeen for the liberal Party for Freedom and Democracy, the VVD. I believe in a better world where life is better for everyone. Especially where people are not able to speak up for themselves. In Iran, many oppressed people cannot speak up for themselves. As vice-president of the Iran committee, I try to supply my efforts nationally and internationally to weaken the regime in Iran. Since I do not like to shout from the sidelines, I am glad that I can make a real contribution. Providing real contributions and providing concrete results - that is how people know me. In media in Russia, on Turkish television, in Polish newspapers, Japanese magazines, and many other countries, I have let my voice be heard. I have let my ear listen. Trips to Australia, Brazil, Canada, the United States, China, and other countries have given me inspiration about how things can be better even in Amsterdam. More kindness, more beauty, more ambition, a better quality of life and above all less bureaucracy and more freedom are the things I want to fight for after March 3, 2010. If I am selected as a member of the City Council, I gladly make myself available to you.
